The historic Lone Cedar School House is a vacation (or small event) retreat nestled in the scenic Flint Hills of eastern Kansas. The one room school is located southeast of Alma—situated along the Nehring Branch of Mill Creek. Owner Rhonda Nehring's great-great-grandparents made their home along this creek—before Kansas was a state! Three generations of her family attended the school.

Newly rennovated, the school house is a very spacious, open, studio with a queen-size bed (an additional bed can be added) plus full kitchen, laundry and bath. The laundry and bath enjoy heated floors and there are new appliances throughout. There is also a robust WiFi connection. Located southeast of Alma (and north of Lake Wabaunsee), this tallgrass prairie retreat offers just the right balance of solitude and convenience. The tall windows provide lots of natural light during the day, and big views of the night sky. A large garage (never used as such) with finished floor, HVAC, full bath, and kitchenette, acts as a bunkhouse—accommodating additional guests. The anex easily converts into studio space for artists, or a small meeting/event space. Stay for a few days—or a few weeks!
